Advancing Cross-Border Collaboration in Hydrogen
The Hydrogen Scotland Conference 2024, held in Glasgow, brought together prominent voices in the hydrogen sector to discuss scaling low-carbon hydrogen production and establishing resilient local and international supply chains.
Oleksandr Riepkin, Member of the Board of the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council, took the stage in the Opening Plenary: Partnerships for Growth to emphasize the crucial role of international cooperation in accelerating the European energy transition. In his remarks, Dr Riepkin highlighted the potential of cross-border collaboration, particularly through initiatives like Hydrogen Valleys, to unlock new opportunities and drive sustainable growth.
"The journey toward clean energy relies on global collaboration, leveraging shared expertise and resources to create resilient, interconnected hydrogen networks", said Polina Kazakevych, President of the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council.
Worth to mention, that the UK has been already a strong supporter of Ukraine's energy sector, including its hydrogen initiatives. Programs like Innovate Ukraine have provided valuable funding and support to Ukrainian companies working to develop innovative hydrogen and renewable energy solutions.
The Ukrainian Hydrogen Council looks forward to building connections between Scotland and regions in Ukraine, envisioning future cooperation that leverages Scotland’s established hydrogen expertise with Ukraine’s emerging hydrogen economy.
