Czech-Ukrainian Hydrogen Cooperation: Dialogue For A Green Future
Under the coordination of the Energy Association "Ukrainian Hydrogen Council," a significant event took place, marking a new stage in the development of clean energy and a green future. Delegations from the Czech Republic and Ukraine gathered to reaffirm their commitment to sustainable development and initiate a crucial phase in hydrogen cooperation.
Co-chairing the coordination of this vital dialogue, Oleksandr Diachenko, Vice-President of the Energy Association "Ukrainian Hydrogen Council," along with the Association's President Polina Kazakevych, emphasized the main idea: the importance of collaborative efforts towards creating an environmentally friendly and sustainable energy future.
In their opening remarks, representatives from both the Czech and Ukrainian sides noted that the delegation meeting was not just an event but a pivotal moment. This moment not only charts the course towards a clean and green future for both countries but also contributes to the active recovery and development of Ukraine.
Petr Mervart, the authorized representative of the Minister of Industry of the Czech Republic for the hydrogen strategy, led the Czech delegation, which included representatives from key companies and institutions. Notable members of the Czech delegation includedNET4GAS HR- the state gas pipeline operator of the Czech Republic,VALCON-INT- an engineering and project company,ABO valve- a representative of theMinisterstvo průmyslu a obchodu České republiky, deputy head of the Eastern Europe, Western Balkans, and Central Asia department, and a representative fromCzechTrade.
On the Ukrainian side, the delegation brought together representatives from well-known companies such as theGas TSO of Ukraine,UDP Renewables,Hydrogen Ukraine,DTEK,Naftogaz of Ukraine, and the Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The main purpose of the meeting was to define specific areas of cooperation, develop plans for joint research, technological innovations, and investment opportunities in the field of hydrogen energy. Representatives from both countries expressed confidence that this partnership would be the foundation for innovative solutions, technological advancements, and economic growth, contributing to the common goal of making our planet cleaner and healthier.
Participants discussed the initiative of the "Central European Hydrogen Corridor," envisioning the creation of a hydrogen "highway" to transport hydrogen from Ukraine through Slovakia and the Czech Republic to Germany. This is a significant step towards achieving global goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to low-carbon energy.
A special focus was placed on the projects of "Hydrogen Valleys" for the production of green hydrogen in Zakarpattia and Odesa regions, which could be key contributions to this strategic initiative. Representatives from both sides emphasized their readiness to actively collaborate in implementing projects aimed at the development of hydrogen energy.
The visit of the Czech delegation representatives marks not only a diplomatic milestone but also a concrete step towards green transformation through international cooperation in the field of hydrogen. The shared dedication to a clean and environmentally friendly future indicates that the Czech Republic and Ukraine are genuine partners in realizing green initiatives for the benefit of the planet and its future generations.
