Vienna hosted the Business Forum on Bio-Methane and Green Hydrogen

On September 27, 2023, an important gathering took place in the Austrian capital, drawing the attention of the international community and marking a significant step towards collaboration between Ukraine and Europe in the fields of bio-methane and green hydrogen. The Business Forum on Bio-Methane and Green Hydrogen, also known as "Business to Business / Europe to Ukraine" (EUB2BUA), served as a platform for discussing strategic matters related to the development of these promising sectors in Ukraine.

One of the primary objectives of this forum was to explore the opportunities that the Ukrainian landscape offers in the realms of bio-methane and green hydrogen. Participants of the event meticulously examined issues concerning legal and legislative frameworks, as well as the strategic and political plans necessary for the further advancement of these sectors in Ukraine.

The forum provided an opportunity to discuss an important issue related to green hydrogen supply chains and to study European legal norms and examples of successful practices in these areas. Participants in the event presented a series of projects that are in the development stage in Ukraine and drew attention to specific issues raised by industry representatives.

Oleksandr Riepkin, a member of the Board of the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council, highlighted Ukraine's substantial potential for green hydrogen production due to extensive solar and wind energy resources. He underscored that Ukraine's commitment to sustainable development aligns perfectly with the European Union's goals for a climate-neutral future.

The company "Hydrogen Ukraine," which is a member of the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council, also actively participated in the forum. The CEO of "Hydrogen Ukraine," Iaroslav Kryl, spoke on the panel "Business in Action: Current Projects in Ukraine" and discussed projects that are currently in the development stage. The first of these projects is a flagship initiative in the Odesa region, and the second is an ambitious project in Zakarpattia.

The EUB2BUA Business Forum has been identified as a significant milestone in the cooperation between Ukraine and Europe in the fields of bio-methane and green hydrogen. It is seen as a crucial catalyst for the further advancement of these vital sectors in Ukraine. This event has become a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas aimed at creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
