URC 2023: An international conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine is starting in London today.

The international conference on Ukraine's restoration started in London today, gathering prominent political figures from around the world. Ukraine was represented at this significant event by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, aimed at supporting and assisting in the country's recovery.

“Ukraine has succeeded in making the EU as united as it has never been before. This is truly a unity of values, which is reflected in many political, economic, sanction and humanitarian decisions. Ukraine has activated all that power of solidarity for which the EU was conceived.” - said the President of Ukraine.

Also attending the conference are UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. This demonstrates the importance and international recognition of the efforts being made for Ukraine's reconstruction.

A particularly significant announcement was the statement by President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen regarding EU financial support. According to her, Ukraine will receive $54.58 billion in financial aid over the next three years. This is a massive step forward that will help the country ensure its sustainable recovery and development.

Furthermore, the United Kingdom is promising to provide Ukraine with a financial aid package of approximately $306 million, plus an additional $3 billion over the next three years. The US is also planning to allocate $1.3 billion for repairing the energy system and assisting Ukrainian businesses. Germany and France are also providing significant amounts of humanitarian and financial aid.

Oleksandr Riepkin, Member of the Board of the Energy Association "Ukrainian Hydrogen Council" and Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Economic Diplomacy, noted that the conference will highlight the importance of reforms and investment for Ukraine's sustainable and ecological recovery.

The efforts of the international community at the conference demonstrate solidarity and support for Ukraine in its path to stability, development, and prosperity. It is expected that the outcomes of this conference will draw the attention of the global community and contribute to the swift recovery of the country.

The path to EU membership and the modernization of the Ukrainian economy after the war will include a significant focus on "green" reconstruction. This means that energy and climate reforms must be rebooted, and reconstruction institutions must immediately take into account the importance of a Green Course.
