The Government of the United States of America has approved the Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap aimed at stimulating the development of a clean hydrogen economy
The analysis of the strategy was conducted by the Energy Association "Ukrainian Hydrogen Council." The association's experts examined and evaluated the potential opportunities and advantages of the U.S. hydrogen strategy.
The strategy and roadmap are aimed at achieving 100% carbon-free electricity and zero greenhouse gas emissions.

The U.S. National Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap align with the administration's goals, including:
(1) Reducing U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 50-52% from 2005 levels by 2030.
(2) Achieving 100% carbon-free electricity by 2035.
(3) Reaching zero greenhouse gas emissions no later than 2050.
(4) Delivering 40% of the benefits from federal climate investments to disadvantaged communities.
The "Hydrogen Shot" strategy sets a bold goal of achieving "1 1 1" — obtaining 1 kilogram of clean hydrogen for $1 within one decade, with the aim of unlocking the potential of hydrogen in various sectors. To achieve these goals, it is important to accelerate the pace and scale of innovation and rapidly deploy clean hydrogen technologies in the private sector.

An important aspect of implementing the strategy is the Clean Hydrogen Electrolysis Program, which is allocated $1 billion. This program will contribute to improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of electrolysis technologies, ranging from research and development to commercialization and deployment. The goal is to achieve a cost of $2 per kilogram of clean hydrogen from electrolysis by 2026.
The government has also allocated $500 million for the development of clean hydrogen production and processing, supporting American equipment manufacturing and improving supply chain efficiency.
Additionally, $8 billion is reserved for the development of regional clean hydrogen hubs. These hubs will create favorable conditions for the production, processing, delivery, storage, and utilization of clean hydrogen. The plan is to create stable jobs and promote regional development.
With the expansion of clean hydrogen production globally, significant growth in revenues is projected to reach $2.5 trillion annually and create 30 million jobs worldwide. Moreover, such development in the hydrogen industry will contribute to a 20% reduction in global emissions by 2050.
The United States already produces over 10% of the world's hydrogen supply and plays a crucial role in the development of the global hydrogen economy. The approval of the Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap confirms the country's readiness to continue leading in this strategic area and help transform the energy landscape in favor of ecology and sustainable development.
