India plans to manufacture five million tonnes of green hydrogen per annum by 2030, aiming to meet its climate targets and become a production and export hub for the fuel.
India will set up separate manufacturing zones, waive inter-state power transmission charges for 25 years and provide priority connectivity to electric grids to green hydrogen and ammonia producers in a bid to incentivise production.

South Africa has officially launched the country’s Hydrogen Society Roadmap (HSRM).
Approved by the South African Cabinet on September 14, 2021, and aimed at aligning energy stakeholders around the common goal of a just and inclusive net-zero economy by 2050, the HSRM identifies the production, storage, and distribution of hydrogen; research, development, and innovation.
The HSRM constitutes part of the country’s Hydrogen South Africa Strategy, which was approved by the Cabinet in 2007, as a means to expand the country’s economy.

Hyoffwind, John Cockerill, and BESIX have signed a new agreement to design and construct a new 100MW green hydrogen production unit in Zeebrugge, Belgium.
The initial first phase of the project will aim to develop a 25MW green hydrogen production facility which then can be scaled to 100MW in the future.
