Oleksandr Riepkin took part in the Wind Power Finance & Investment Summit in London
Yesterday, during an official visit to the United Kingdom with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, the President of the Energy Association “Ukrainian Hydrogen Council” Oleksandr Riepkin took part in the Wind Power Finance & Investment Summit devoted to the discussion of wind energy development.
Hydrogen produced using wind energy could become a key component in a global zero-carbon future. Due to the significant potential for wind energy development, it is also one of the most effective ways to produce green hydrogen in Ukraine.
This was emphasized by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka and the President of the Association during the speech.
The territory of the shallow areas in Ukraine allows for building offshore WPPs with a total capacity of GW 146. In total the country has the potential to establish 250 GW offshore WPPs in its territory with an average annual electricity production of 984 billion kWh and can provide an average annual production of 219 billion mn3 (19.5 million tones) of green hydrogen by electrolysis.
