Ukrainian Hydrogen Council and the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) have signed a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation

The purpose of this Memorandum is to establish a cooperative relationship between AeH2 and the Energy Association "Ukrainian Hydrogen Council" to create a practical platform for information exchange and collaboration between industry, government institutions, universities and research institutes, which will provide broad market advantages to jointly promote cooperation between Spain and Ukraine in the field of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technologies.

AeH2 is the voice of the Spanish hydrogen industry. The association represents more than 250 partners throughout the chain of hydrogen technology development, including producers of renewable energy, equipment and components, engineering and EPC, oil and gas, industrial gases, transport and organizations related to the hydrogen sector. Among AeH2 partners are the most active companies and institutions in Spain, which are actively working with "green" hydrogen and fuel cells and are convinced that these technologies have great economic potential.

"Our cooperation with the Energy Association "Ukrainian Hydrogen Council" is a new impetus for the partnership between Ukraine and Spain. We realise the significant role of Ukraine in the hydrogen market for European countries. The AeH2 Association is confident of a partnership for the benefit of our countries”, - said the President of the AeH2, Mr. Javier Brey Sánchez.

Green hydrogen plays a key role in the current energy transition, offering excellent opportunities for economic development and high environmental benefits. This is a key energy vector in the decarbonisation of the economies of Ukraine and Spain to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.

The topic of decarbonization is extremely relevant around the world, and the use of hydrogen technology plays a crucial role in this process.

"The EU has identified Ukraine as a priority partner in the implementation of the European Hydrogen Strategy, and in order not to lose this credit of trust, we need to join forces and promote the idea of developing hydrogen energy. I realise that the partnership with one of the first hydrogen associations is a new stage in the relations between Spain and Ukraine. I believe that strengthening international cooperation and partnerships is one of the main priorities for the development of hydrogen technologies and the transit potential of "green hydrogen", - said the President of the Energy Association «Ukrainian Hydrogen Council» Oleksandr Riepkin.

Ukrainian Hydrogen Council expresses its sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Spain for assistance in establishing partnerships with the Spanish Hydrogen Association and support in the development of the hydrogen economy in Ukraine as a whole.
