Hydrogen is one of the most promising options for decarbonizing road transport, trains and ships. It could make possible to limit the scale or rate of global warming and the associated consequences.

Hydrogen is a fuel that can be used to fuel vehicles as fast as conventional fuels. Hydrogen provides sufficient power for long ranges and high payloads due to its superior energy density. For example, hydrogen technology allows a truck to drive up to 1,800 km without refueling. To drive 100 km, a car will need about 1 kg of hydrogen, and a 40-ton truck - 7 kg.
Hydrogen fuel cells do not produce noise pollution. This means that, much like electric cars, hydrogen powered vehicles are much quieter than those that use conventional internal combustion engines. The same applies to trains in particular.
In addition to the above, it should be noted that hydrogen-based synthetic fuels could also help to decarbonize aviation.
