Ukrainian Hydrogen Council and SE GTRPC «Zorya»-«Mashproekt» have signed a Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation

Yesterday, 3 August 2021, President of the Energy Association “Ukrainian Hydrogen Council” Oleksandr Riepkin visited State Enterprise “Gas Turbine Research and Production Complex “Zorya”-“Mashproekt”, where he discussed with Director General Oleksiy Zhukovets the importance of the transition to the use of hydrogen as a fuel and ways of further cooperation.

Following the meeting, recognizing the need for joint action aimed at the development of hydrogen energy and the introduction of modern hydrogen technologies in Ukraine, the parties signed the Memorandum of Partnership and Cooperation.

It should be noted that the Enterprise is already working on the use of hydrogen as an alternative to fuel for turbines. In particular, the department of General Designer of the SE GTRPC «Zorya»-«Mashproekt» is working at creating the test stand for combustion chambers that will burn gas-hydrogen mixture and hydrogen fuel. It is expected that R&D works will be completed within the period of 4 years, and the year of 2025 will mark the beginning of hydrogen engines series production.

“I am sure that we have enough specialists in Ukraine to bring the hydrogen economy and energy to a new level in a high quality and in the shortest possible time”, stressed Oleksandr Riepkin.
