The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), an executive body of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, has awarded a subsidy of €3.6 million to PosHYdon. The project in the North Sea is reportedly the world's first offshore green hydrogen pilot on a working platform.
Electricity generated by offshore wind turbines will power the hydrogen plant on the platform for two processes: converting seawater into demineralized water and electrolysis of water to produce green hydrogen. The aim of the pilot is to validate the integration of offshore wind, gas and hydrogen.
The green hydrogen will be mixed with the gas and transported via the existing gas pipeline to the coast. The 1-megawatt electrolyser will produce a maximum of 400 kilogrammes of green hydrogen per day.

Indian Oil Corporation is set to build India's first 'Green Hydrogen' plant at Mathura. The project will replace carbon-emitting fuels used in the refinery.
As per reports, Union Cabinet prepared a draft that stated the use of green hydrogen in fertilizers and oil refineries. Now, fertilizer plants and oil refineries would have to use green hydrogen to meet 0.15% of their total hydrogen requirements starting from 2023-24 and ramp it up to a tenth of their total requirements within six years.

RWE, Shell, Gasunie and Equinor have signed a declaration of intent to further intensify their collaboration on the AquaSector project - the vision of the first large-scale German offshore hydrogen park.
The AquaSector project intends to install approx. 300 MW electrolyser capacity to produce up to 20,000 tons per year of green hydrogen offshore. The green hydrogen is planned to be transported via a pipeline, called AquaDuctus, to Heligoland starting in the year of 2028.
The partners see the AquaSector project also as a ‘proof of concept‘ for the realisation of the AquaVentus vision of producing up to 10 GW of green hydrogen offshore by 2035 and transporting it via an extended pipeline to mainland Germany.

New Zealand utilities Meridian Energy and Contact Energy are jointly studying the development of a green hydrogen export facility at Southland on New Zealand's South Island using electrolysers powered by 600MW of renewable energy. Production is to start after the 2024 closure of New Zealand Aluminium Smelters (NZAS) at the site.
The project is known as the Southern Green Hydrogen project and is in the feasibility stage, with two reports providing more details on it to be released before the end of the year.
