Ukraine and Kazakhstan plan to deepen energy cooperation

On June 18, Deputy Minister for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov participated in the 14th Meeting of the Joint Interstate Ukrainian-Kazakhstani Commission on Economic Cooperation chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko and Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov.

Yaroslav Demchenkov outlined several areas in which Kazakhstan and Ukraine can deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. These include oil trade and transit, the nuclear industry and hydrogen energy.

"We are currently studying the production potential of "blue","green"and "yellow" hydrogen in Ukraine. We are preparing a study to assess the capabilities of our GTS to transport hydrogen to EU member-states. We have a significant potential for cooperation, and I invite Kazakh business to participate in the preparation of joint projects for the production, use and transportation of hydrogen", he said.

The parties agreed to study opportunities for increase cooperation through new energy projects to achieve mutually beneficial results.
