Oleksandr Riepkin has participated in the Second Conference on Energy Law
The President of the Energy Association «Ukrainian Hydrogen Council» Oleksandr Riepkin has participated in the third session of the Second Conference on Energy Law, organized by the Ukrainian Bar Association.

Within the third session on "Natural Gas Market and Hydrogen Prospects" participants talked, in particular, about the development of the natural gas market, the termination of public service obligations (PSO) in the market segment for households, the regulation of gas import/export in Ukraine, the prospects of the usage of the gas transmission system for transportation of hydrogen and biomethane, as well as prospects of Ukraine for hydrogen production, transportation and use.

During a speech, Oleksandr Riepkin noted that Ukraine has a significant potential for solar energy, and in terms of wind energy potential, Ukraine ranks second after Great Britain in Europe. This was one of the reasons for identifying Ukraine as a priority partner in the implementation of the European Hydrogen Strategy.
Another advantage of Ukraine is the developed gas transmission system, which can be used to transport hydrogen to EU member states. Mr. Riepkin said that within the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba to Germany this week, it was agreed to establish a joint Ukraine-Germany-Slovakia tripartite working group to study the possibility of usage of Ukrainian GTS, which allows transport hydrogen from Ukraine to Germany.
"We really need to focus on hydrogen technology projects that are very relevant today. We try to promote this idea as actively as possible in order not to lag behind the other countries”, emphasized Oleksandr Riepkin.
