Within the framework of the 7th meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council a special attention was paid to the issues of the European Green Course and energy sector reforming.

“Energy sector reforming as a whole in Ukraine – what is meant here is the implementation of fully-fledged gas and electricity markets; new technologies, which we discussed on the EU platform; development of hydrogen technologies in Ukraine, critical raw materials, which in future will make it possible to create relevant energy storage units. Development of renewable energy sources was also a subject of our conversation", - noted Denys Shmyhal, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, during a joint press conference following the results of the meeting.
Members of the Ukrainian delegation have emphasized that Ukraine will continue implementing legislative initiatives related to the European Green Course. Moreover, joint projects in the areas of energy efficiency, transformation of coal regions and climate change mitigation will continue to be implemented.
“Ukraine will take part in the processes of formation and implementation of the Green Course, and the areas of common interest are energy efficiency, hydrogen, transformation of coal regions, industrial alliances and development of climate architecture", − commented Olha Stefanishyna, the Deputy Prime Minister for the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
